Discover Meditation

Discover Meditation

The benefits of meditation are so thoroughly researched and proven by medical science that there is no question about the validity of meditation. People who are curious about meditation and who are interested in discovering what meditation can do for them, are only a click away from their answer. Online meditation tutorials, mp3 downloads, videos and other how-to guides are immensely helpful to anyone just delving into meditation. In this article we will take a look at some of the physical, mental and spiritual benefits that guided meditation can have.

Guided Meditation

Guided meditation is a form of meditation that is especially good for beginners. In guided meditation, a person will lead you through the beginning, middle and end of your meditative experience. You will be told to sit in a comfortable place and relax for a moment. Then the speaker may have you do a bit of breath work. All along the way, the guide will lead you through by having you visualize certain things along the way. Guided meditation is very effective and simple way to introduce yourself to this ancient practice.

The Physical Benefits of Meditation

The physical benefits of meditative practice are numerous and proven by scientific studies. One of the most noticeable benefits of meditation is that stress levels decrease rapidly. This is because the levels of stress hormones cortisol and lactate are reduced. As stress melts away, your body will experience deep, restful relaxation. Your heart rate will decrease and your breathing will slow. Your blood pressure will also go down as a result of the relaxation.

Emotional Benefits of Meditation

Now we know that the body and emotions are connected. But, for simplicity, we will talk about meditation’s benefits separately. As you read about the emotional benefits, keep in mind that the physical and emotional are connected to one another.

When stress hormones are low and a person is in an alert, relaxed state of mind, learning takes place more quickly and is more likely to be remembered at a later date. In addition, the ability to reason and think clearly also improve, as does the level of creativity a person has. Typically anxiety and depression are reduced and replaced with a calm and energetic feeling. When meditation is regularly practiced, the positive effects are compounded.

When the body is in a relaxed state, the brain is able to learn new information more quickly and retain the learning. Reasoning ability and clearer thinking, as well as an improved sense of creativity are all benefits of meditation. Because the stress hormones have gone down, feelings of anxiety and depression are also decreased and replaced with a rejuvenated, energetic and happy state of mind. All of these benefits multiply the effect on the body over time, if meditation is practiced regularly.

Spiritual Benefits

Over time, with regular meditative practice, people will notice that they are more in sync with what their bodies are telling them. Gradually, feelings of peace, a clarity of life’s purpose and abundant love towards the world will appear during meditation. It takes practice to develop the skills to reach this deepest level of meditation.

To take the first steps towards developing the skills to reach nirvana, you can begin right now using a guided online meditation. Your entire life will become less challenging as you continue your meditative practice. The benefits will not only be felt immediately after meditation, but will expand out into all areas of your life.

Now you can get the FREE guided meditation CD that will motivate you to take charge of all the areas of your life! When you begin using the easy steps available through the online meditation series, you will begin noticing positive changes in your life quickly!

These easy free exercises can be completed at the fitness center or in the privacy of your own home. These exercises are easy to perform and require no equipment. They help the body by preventing injury.

There are many stretching exercises available to the athlete. It is not difficult to learn about them at home either. A quick internet search will do the trick. Type the term stretching into any search engine and in no time a long list of articles will appear. A person can review videos or written instructions that will assist with teaching a person how to perform the exercise correctly.

Improving health is a way a person can prolong their life, fight disease and protect themselves from illness. Exercise is a great easy way to do this. Trying new programs such as yoga, pilates or basic stretching is a way for many to exercise. They help a person relax and reduce the amount of stress a person is under. In society today, a fast paced life full of hustle and bustle is taking a toll on health and many people are paying the price. Many of these methods do not require equipment.

Enhanced weight reduction, chakra tuning, eliminating stress, motivation, health improvement, creativity boosting, and a number of other items can all be helped by using binaural beats. You may be asking where this concept of binaural beats came from and the reason why there are so many benefits to utilizing them. Let us discuss where binaural beats have come from, what binaural beats are, and if binaural beats are effective.

Heinrich Wilhelm Dove was the first physicist to recognize the phenomenon of binaural beats in 1839. What he identified was that administering different tones to each ear, you can create what is named a “binaural beat.” These tones were given to each ear at the same time with a slight alteration in each tone that is measured in Hertz (Hz) or cycles per second. The frequency variation between the tone in one ear and the tone in the opposite ear would be called the “beat.”

For example, let’s presume that you have one tone being played to each ear. The first tone could be 180 Hz and played into your right ear, and the other tone could be 185 Hz and played in the left ear. The difference in frequencies creates a “beat” referred to as the binaural beat. In the example, the difference would be 5 Hz.

The most vital part to mention is that these are perceived by the brain, and are not actually “heard” as it may sound. These are responses in parts of the brain stem which are given from the superior olivary nucleus of each half of the brain. What makes this so vital is that the “beats” that are experienced actually cause the two sides of the brain to be in sync with one another.

The binaural beats are not just focused on individuals and are used on a bigger scale. One organization, The Monroe Institute, put quite a bit of effort into marketing this type of treatment, which has been utilized in hospitals and other areas. Many benefits have been achieved from utilizing the binaural beats, including less of a requirement for pain medicine, speedy recuperation, stabilized blood pressure, and more.

Three tapes were created and were given out to prove or disprove this concept in 1999. This study, performed by Anesthesia, selected individuals that were involved in a number of different procedures, gave them a tape with either a product called “Hemisync,” a classical music recording, or a tape with nothing on it. Each one of these subjects were also administered a drug called fentanyl, which is typically used in the treatment of chronic pain. The subjects requiring less fentanyl were those subjects not listening to the classical music tape, or the blank tape, but the subjects listening to the Hemisync tape.

Displaying that the benefits of binaural beats can be measured does help this sometimes misunderstood method. “Hemispheric Synchronized Sounds and Intraoperative Anesthetic Requirements” was finished and truly helped the promotion by showing the world that binaural beats can be a benefit to the people that listen to them.

Those who take sleeping pills generally do so out of necessity, because they want sleep, not to take pills. But, if your attention is focused on this article for about three minutes, you may find out a few interesting things about sleep and sleeping pills that will hopefully change your life for the better.

1. Sleeping pills are habit forming. No matter what the commercials tell you, repeatedly using a sleeping pill, even an over the counter product, creates a dependency on that product to produce sleep. While it may not have a powerful chemical addictive property, the psychological association can become so strong that it has the same effect. Basically, once your subconscious mind accepts the idea that you need a pill to sleep, it simply will not remember how to fall asleep naturally some other way, without the proper re-training.

2. Do you ever notice how puffy and bloated your face and body are the morning after you take a sleeping pill? This is a tell-tale sign from your body that your usual overnight healing and other bodily processes have been hindered or even prevented by the drug you have taken. Basically, the toxins are not being properly processed out of your body. What additional problems are you creating, as you attempt to “solve” your insomnia?

3. Both prescription and over the counter sleeping medications are designed to slow down brain function. Your brain has a mechanism to slow down naturally, passing from your normal waking brain activity, slowing down until it reaches the slow rhythm of sleep. There are ways to create this slowing down process naturally, but sleeping pills do it by acting on and suppressing other areas of the brain, not just slowing down its rhythm. They create deterioration in the brain cells. For these reasons, sleeping pills are known to cause unwanted side effects, including poor concentration/fatigue, confusion, impaired coordination, memory, judgment, addiction, respiratory depression, and in extreme circumstances, death.

4. Sleeping pills cause respiratory depression (poor oxygen intake from the lungs) because they accentuate the GABA neurotransmitter, which keeps the nerve cells in the lung tissue from firing properly, therefore decreasing proper lung function. This is why an overdose of sleeping pills creates death by asphyxiation. Could this situation have contributed or caused Michael Jackson’s death?

5. Because sleeping pills dont address the root cause of insomnia, or retrain the brain to fall asleep naturally, they actually do nothing to cure the condition they are taken for. Which in turn leads to deeper dependency, because you continue to need to apply the band-aid, but you never actually heal. Fortunately, there are ways to re-train the brain how to fall into the rhythm of sleep naturally, which do not create a dependency because it uses the brains natural mechanism for slowing down and creating the deep delta brain rhythms of sleep. Why dont more people try brainwave entrainment to resolve insomnia before taking sleeping pills? Simply because it is not commonly known. Those who do use brainwave entrainment frequently find that they are able to re-train their brains to fall asleep naturally, without any chemicals.

The wide selection of relaxation audio CDs and mp3s are mostly just soothing tones or music to help with your own meditation. If you are experienced, these might help, but for a lot of people, they won’t.

Binaural meditation solutions have been around since the nineteen seventies. By a process called entrainment, it can reliably put you into a calming meditative state without effort on your part.

Your brain generates electrical signals of various frequencies. In order, these are beta, alpha, theta and delta. This ranges from being fully conscious and active to deep, dreamless sleep.

Each side of your brain is making all of these waves continuously. The strength of each frequency is dependent on the activity you are involved in. Through meditation, we try to reach the more calming lower frequencies.

It is possible with traditional meditation to reach alpha or occasionally theta, but long practice is needed. It is hard to maintain these levels consistently, or even to know that you have reached them.

Binaural meditation uses two sounds, played through headphones into each ear. The brain resolves these sounds and produces a frequency which matches the difference between the two.

You put your headphones on and you are getting the benefits of deep meditation. You are free to think about your shopping list or whatever, knowing that it is working. The guesswork is taken out of it.

You can’t know subjectively if you are meditating, but with binaural beat relaxation audios, you don’t have to worry. This tried and tested technology means that you reach these deep meditation levels every time.

Stress is a daily experience and although it is part of any individuals existence, when prolonged, it can be hazardous to ones health. Knowing the means of relieving stress as well as being able to cope with it is important to ensure that it does not result in distress. Daily stresses as well as their impact should be clearly understood to ensure a relief is got from them. When undergoing stress, tightening of the muscles may occur while one may feel like the stomach is knotting up.

During stressful moments, there is a likelihood of the breathing pattern changing and becoming faster than usual. While undergoing stress, the victim only has the capability to concentrate on the factors leading to the stress while nothing else seems to be of consequence. This effect generally occurs after a centralization of all the thoughts to one point, and this is generally what stress really means. It is of great importance to know how to release stress and rigorous breathing is one efficient methods of relieving stress.

Initial calming down is the foremost step used in stress reduction and the major underlying concept behind this technique is to slow down the process of breathing. After attaining calmness, this is an indication that the fast breathing has been slowed down and stress is gradually being reduced. It is advisable to practice taking of long and deep breaths and actually keep track of the breaths. This technique of deep breathing slows the breathing pattern and reduces stress eventually.

Bereavement is one of those cases in which the implementation of commonly used methodologies may not work. Generally, such a case requires the victim to undergo therapeutic assistance from a professional psychologist or therapist to receive guidance on stress relieve. Whenever someone responds inappropriately to life events that are commonly normal, this may require immediate seeking of professional help. Acquiring professional assistance is a positive step towards gaining positive results as well as relief from cases of severe stress.

Doubt can be a cause of stress hence the need to gain some knowledge regarding anxiety release and stress management for more clear thinking. Mistrusting personal judgment can be quite demeaning as well as undermining and may result in blame being assigned from party to party. Understanding eventually leads an advancement or improvement in a harmonious and peaceful life. Good feelings or emotions portray positive actions, but when the feelings or emotions are unpleasant this indicates negative actions. To relieve stress, exercising should be one of the strategies top on the list.
